WomenHeart Strengthens Hearts in Georgia

We strengthened the “heart” of WomenHeart this past weekend as we graduated our next class of WomenHeart Champions!  From February 17-20, the WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium was held at Atlanta’s Emory Conference Center for 28 women from across Georgia!  The event featured a diverse and dynamic array of speakers including leading cardiologists Nanette Kass Wenger, MD, Sharonne Hayes, MD, and Gina Lundberg, MD; and other top cardiologists; Department of Public Health representatives; and health care providers and advocates from the Peach State.  WomenHeart staff and board members Carol Allred and Ann de Velasco joined forces with WomenHeart Champions Connie Adcock, Ann Bendall, and Ann Holmes-Hulett to help deliver three action-packed days of learning and leadership-building to a group of women committed to improving the state of women's heart health in Georgia.  Congratulations and cheers to our newest Heart Sisters!  Visit the WomenHeart photo gallery to catch some of the symposium's most memorable moments.
